Well managed communities are committed to and invested in helping event producers, artists and other public space activation innovators accomplish successful events and programming. To realize such ambition, particularly given the potential for conflict among different stakeholders and consistencies, it is useful for communities to lead processes that develop a shared definition for the types of successes that are possible through special events. This session is specifically geared to provide an overview of engagement processes used to align policies and procedures with a community’s goals for special events to help to minimize disruption and optimize outcomes.
